On May 9, 2025, students pursuing a BSc in Agriculture ( Animal Major) Year 4 had the opportunity to visit a feed manufacturing company specializing in animal feeds. This experience served as an extension of their coursework on ration formulation, allowing them to engage with real-world applications. During the visit, they gained valuable insights into the process of producing various types of animal feed.
On April 25, 2025, the dedicated staff of our department participated in a tree planting exercise at University of Nairobi Vet Farm, Kanyariri. This initiative was part of our commitment to environmental conservation and creating a greener, healthier future. By planting trees, we are helping to restore natural habitats, combat climate change, and enhance the beauty of our surroundings.

Technologists Benjamin Kyalo, Purity Gakii, and Pauline Makenzi from the department got hands-on training on the use of Cavity Ring-Down Spectroscopy (CRDS) at the University of Nairobi, Faculty of Agriculture,
on 6th March 2025, The Kenya School of TVET visited the department for some hands-on sessions on animal feed, poultry, and rabbitry.
On 14th March 2025, Fr Makewa Secondary School visited the department for a hands-on session focused on Animal Feeds, Poultry Management, and Rabbit Keeping.
The Form Four class of Pangani Girls recently visited our department for practical learning on animal feeds, poultry keeping, and rabbitry.
