In the frame of the ADVALUE project – Advancing Sustainable Agricultural Value Chains through Strengthening Transdisciplinary Skills and Cooperation in East African Doctoral Education, the University of Nairobi organized a one-week physical training event on Sustainable Rangeland Management.
The University of Nairobi (UoN) held its 74th Graduation Ceremony on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the Chancellor's Court, starting at 7:30 AM.
The Vice-Chancellor, University of Nairobi, has appointed Dr. Rawlynce Bett as Chairman of the Department of Animal Production, effective September 2025.
Dr. Rawlynce Bett is an accomplished member of staff with extensive teaching and research experience. This is in addition to supervision of postgraduate students, student mentorship, and outreach services.
The Department of Animal Production will have broilers for sale starting Monday, 23rd September 2025.

On May 9, 2025, students pursuing a BSc in Agriculture ( Animal Major) Year 4 had the opportunity to visit a feed manufacturing company specializing in animal feeds. This experience served as an extension of their coursework on ration formulation, allowing them to engage with real-world applications. During the visit, they gained valuable insights into the process of producing various types of animal feed.
On April 25, 2025, the dedicated staff of our department participated in a tree planting exercise at University of Nairobi Vet Farm, Kanyariri. This initiative was part of our commitment to environmental conservation and creating a greener, healthier future. By planting trees, we are helping to restore natural habitats, combat climate change, and enhance the beauty of our surroundings.
