On behalf of the Department of Animal Production, I welcome you to our website. The website provides a good deal of information about the department, staff, students, and the teaching research and training that take place here.
The department has been at the forefront of education and training for more than six decades and has participated in the production of over 1,700 veterinarians, 2,000 agriculture graduates, 500 food technologists, 400 range managers, and 600 agricultural engineers in addition to 50 Masters of Science in Animal Nutrition, Genetics, and Breeding and Livestock production systems as well as 15 Ph.D.s in specific aspects of Animal Science.
Our diverse faculty members are highly accomplished researchers and collaborate with colleagues in other units of the College, University, and worldwide. We take pride in our tradition of creating and disseminating knowledge related to animal production through research, teaching, and various professional and policy contributions.
Apart from teaching, the department boasts an interactive animal nutrition laboratory, and poultry and rabbit units. These areas provide centers for research for our postgraduate and undergraduate students in addition to income generation and serving the needs of the community.
