Tree Planting at University of Nairobi Vet Farm, Kanyariri – April 25, 2025

On April 25, 2025, the dedicated staff of our department participated in a tree planting exercise at University of Nairobi Vet Farm, Kanyariri. This initiative was part of our commitment to environmental conservation and creating a greener, healthier future. By planting trees, we are helping to restore natural habitats, combat climate change, and enhance the beauty of our surroundings.

NAIROBI INNOVATION WEEK 2024 - FACULTY BASED HACKATHONS

Innovators who are passionate about innovation and developing ideas to solve society's greatest challenges In preparation for The Nairobi Innovation Week 2024, register to participate in the Faculties-based Hackathons and learn how to innovate!

 The goal is to prepare students and staff to be job creators instead of job seekers. The top three winning ideas from each of the Faculties Hackathons will get a chance to participate in the final Nairobi Innovation Week competition in 2024.

Broiler chicken purchased from Kenchick being brooded in the Animal Production Department Poultry Unit

The Animal Production Department in the Faculty of Veterinary medicine has a poultry unit used for students practicals demonstrations and research work for both the Postgraduate and undergraduates students and also for the individual researchers.

The Unit is currently brooding broiler chicks from Ken chick. 

An ongoing online short course on Postharvest Food Loss and Waste Reduction Towards Sustainable Food Systems from 3-5 th May 2021 attended by Benjamin Kyalo Senior Technologist together with Dr.Everlyne Nawiri & Dr.Chepkirui Naum post graduate students.
