The University of Nairobi will admit the highest number of candidates who scored grade A in last year’s KCSE

The University of Nairobi will admit the highest number of candidates who scored grade A in last year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE), placement results released yesterday indicate.

It will admit 313 of the 630 top students, with Tonny Wabuko Buluma, who was the best student last year, joining the university to study Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery.

In response to the negative effects of Covid-19 on teaching and learning, the University of Nairobi Senate approved guidelines and procedures for online examinations on 8 th May 2020. The Special Senate was chaired by the Vice Chancellor, Prof.S.G.Kiama. The Senate relied on the provisions of Statutes- xxv that gives senate the mandate over all academic matters in the University.Read more 

Students conduct practical experiments in Toxicity studies

Students from the Department of Veterinary Anatomy and Physiology had the opportunity to conduct extensive practical experiments in Toxicity studies on Paragon Insecticidal spray formulation.

Toxicity studies in the animal models are done to determine the dose level recommended for the treatment of disease. Toxicity testing is paramount in the screening of newly developed drugs before it can be used on animals.
