1st-year students taking the Nutrition and Dietetics programme visit the Rabbit Breeding and Conservation Centre to learn practically about rabbitry. They demonstrated the good practice oh housing, feeding, cleanliness, and slaughtering of a rabbit.
The Animal Scientists Welfare (TAS-UoN) held its Annual General Meeting to evaluate the progress of their welfare. This is welfare which was started in 2013 for members of staff to stand with each other in regards to the general well-being of each other.
The Department on 30th October 2023, hosted some staff members from the Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries Development (MoLFD), Somaliland, who also attended the Agro conference at the Faculty of Agriculture held between 25th -26th October 2023. The team was exposed to learning and training in Sustainable Agriculture and Livestock systems in Drylands. The visit contributed to the visibility of the department and also created an opportunity to market undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in the department.
