Ms Manirakiza Isidonie and Mr Nimbona Felix, from Burundi, the Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Livestock and National Veterinary Laboratory are undergoing a one month experiential training at the Department of animal production, in the faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Nairobi. The fellows have been working with experienced laboratory technologist; Mr. Benjamin Kyalo Mbondo, Ms Ann Kimende, Mr. Samuel Githiwa. They are supported by the International Atomic Energy Agency. The fellows have been actively engaged in feed nutritional quality analysis, feed safety considerations, and feed processing and sustainable animal production systems. They have also undergone practical feed formulation and industrial processing by a regional experienced expert Dr. Fredrick Wangombe. This is part of the universities international collaboration and regional capacity development efforts. The fellows are hosted by Dr. Oscar K. Koech, in the Department of LARMAT for a period of one month. They will also be undergoing intensive training and experiential learning at one of the major feed manufacturing company, Unga feed Limited.
