This is intra ruminal incubation of samples using a cloth bag or nylon bag of specific pore size of about 30 microns. The cloth bags are inserted into a rumen through a fistula. This method is preferred by those who wish to avoid the details of anaerobic technique. Digestion utilizing cloth bags of controlled pore size can be very useful in measuring in vivo rates of digestion.
